02.18.2017 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

On Saturday, February 18, 2017, between 10 am and 6 pm, Barnes & Noble will host a FOTRI book fair and community outreach event.  During the event, Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of the book, dvd, and merchandise proceeds to FOTRI when customers mention our official event number (12074514) for both in-store and online sales.

There will be FOTRI volunteers, National Park Service Rangers, speakers, and storytellers sharing information and stories about the island, Theodore Roosevelt, and the local National Park system.  National Park Service Rangers from the George Washington Memorial Parkway unit will be on hand in the afternoon to share information about the island and other parks in their district; Tom Moncure, a former Virginia House Delegate and descendant of John Mason, will speak about the Mason family history of the island; Luke Clemmons, a child development professional, will read a Teddy Bear book during the 12 noon story time; and John Doolittle, a former American University professor and Island historian will share Theodore Roosevelt book and dvd recommendations.
